“This is part of a series of mono-prints I made considering cartoon bunnies and the many possible landscapes they can inhabit. They turned out to be highly adaptable creatures, finding their way onto pages gleaned from children’s books to Quebecois industrial materials.
On a personal note, I was happy to spend 7 weeks this past summer at the Banff Centre, meeting and collaborating with a myriad of fantastic artists from around the country and the world. 17 of those artists offered me their original art to manipulate and remix beyond recognition. I am always seeking new creative guinea pigs.” (Billy Mavreas)

« Cette œuvre fait partie d’une série de monotypes que j’ai composé en m’inspirant des lapins de dessins animés et des nombreux paysages qu’il leur serait possible d’habiter. Ils se sont révélés être des créatures hautement adaptables, faisant leur chemin de pages glanées dans des livres pour enfants à des matériaux industriels québécois.
Sur une note personnelle, j’ai été heureux de passer 7 semaines l’été dernier au Centre Banff, rencontrant et travaillant avec une myriade d’artistes fantastiques des quatres coins du pays et du monde. 17 d’entre-eux m’ont permis de manipuler et de remixer leurs œuvres originales au-delà de toute reconnaissance possible.
