A THOUSAND PAPER CRANES: THE WEAPONS OF PEACE written by Paula Wing and directed by Micheline Chevrier. Presented by Geordie Productions as part of the Centaur Theatre’s WildSide Theatre Festival. Workshopped through PWM this season. On August 6, 1945, an American bomber drops the first atomic bomb as a weapon of war on Hiroshima. The results were death, destruction and sickness from the A-Bomb. A young Japanese girl by the name of Sadako Sasaki was one of those victims whose fight to survive and stay positive in the face of her illness has made her a symbol of peace throughout the world.
