Your Writing Membership allows you the opportunity to submit a script to Playwrights’
Workshop Montréal for consideration by our Artistic
Director or our Artist/ Dramaturg in Residence. One of them
will respond to your script either in writing, by phone,
or in person within six to eight weeks of the date it is
received.
PWM is not a producing theatre, so it is
sometimes difficult to know exactly what kind of development
each writer is looking for when submitting a script. In
order to help us with this, please include a simple
cover letter which outlines a little about yourself,
which draft it is, what previous development work has been
done, and any specific areas of concern you have. We also
ask that you provide a brief one page write up
that includes basic information such as a one paragraph
synopsis, the number of acts, scenes, characters (with brief
descriptions) and setting. This information will allow us
to be more helpful when providing comments and criticism.
