Jason Sherman was born in Montréal in 1962, but has lived in Toronto since 1969. After attending York University's Creative Writing Program, he worked as an editor for various literary journals and as a journalist until he began pursuing his own writing full time. In the fall, his play Reading Hebron was nominated for the Governor General's award. Currently, he is a writer-in-residence at the Tarragon Theatre in Toronto, which will produce his latest work Patience this year.

Also, this coming Spring, Sherman's play None Is Too Many will be produced at Winnipeg Jewish Theatre. Based on Irving Abella's book by the same name, None Is Too Many chronicles the impact of Canada's anti-semitic immigration policies during World War II.
