One-on-One Dramaturgy provides playwrights with feedback on their scripts. The objective of our dramaturgy is to create the highest calibre of texts for the stage, and to expand the diversity of theatrical experience in Canada.

Production Dramaturgy

Production Dramaturgy brings the dramaturgical process into the rehearsal hall and provides historical background, philosophical and linguistic contexts, as well as other knowledge essential for the realization of the text.

In-House Readings bring actors and directors into the process as a means of addressing the theatrical and practical demands of the stage.

Public Workshops

Public Workshops work with the script, actors and playwright in-house with the goal of presenting a publicly staged reading. The goal is to permit the writer and dramaturg to assess how a script communicates to an audience.

Artist Residencies

Artist Residencies of several days to several weeks in length are occasionally made available to professional playwrights interested in a longer and more concentrated period of work on their plays.

Our Radio Drama Competitions offer workshops to writers interested in writing for radio, and each year we commission several plays for CBC Radio.
