Welcome to The Carol
Libman Online Script Collection!
Named for one of the founders of Playwrights' Workshop Montréal,
the on-line collection is an extension of our on-site Resource Library.
The Resource Library was created in 1985, originally as a reading
room for the Playwrights' Union of Canada (now the Playwrights'
Guild of Canada). Over the years, the Resource Library and Online
Script Collection have evolved into a dramaturgical resource for
our members and an archive of past scripts developed at PWM .
The Online Script Collection operates as both a database of our
library holdings and a virtual library. Here, you will find the
names of over 1600 scripts, including those by Canadian playwrights
whose work has been developed in conjunction with Playwrights’
Workshop Montréal, and other important plays. You can view the full
text of about thirty of these scripts on-line. The full text of
all other scripts is available at our office for members to peruse
during regular business hours.
You can direct inquiries about scripts or obtaining the rights
to certain plays to Playwrights’ Workshop Montréal, although
the rights are more often handled by the playwright or publisher.

You don’t
need any special software to browse the database, but to read
the scripts that are available online you will need Adobe Acrobat
Reader. If you do not already have Acrobat Reader on your computer,
download it from Adobe’s web site (free of charge). |
