This exceptional, one-of-a-kind Residency has been the kind of experience
that most writers dream of – a gentle solitude, a stunning
environment, an inspirational company of artists, the freedom to
pursue work or just sit and contemplate. It allowed for a flexible,
yet structured working regime. I felt completely taken care of -
valued and nurtured. The long, lingering dinners by the fire after
a day of writing were some of the most pleasurable moments - a group
of (mostly) strangers coming together over food, wine and conversation.
The group was diverse, honest, probing, generous, and just the right
size. By the end of the ten days, wandering around Fletcher Cottage,
writers huddled in blankets with laptops, cups of tea, glasses of
wine, filling corners, building fires, I felt truly blessed. A privilege
and a joy. More, more please.
