Je me sens vraiment privilégié d’avoir participé à cette résidence auteur/traducteur dans le cadre unique, enchanteur de Tadoussac et de la chaleureuse maison de M. Bill Glassco.

Privilégié car j’ai pu travailler auprès de ma traductrice, Shelley Tepperman, à cette nouvelle adaptation de ma pièce 24 Poses(portraits). Je repars avec la conviction que cette refonte était nécessaire et rend davantage justice au texte original.

Le grand privilège est avant tout d’avoir côtoyé durant dix jours des hommes et des femmes, riches d’expériences diverses, portant un regard singulier sur le milieu théâtral et le monde. Des gens à l’esprit vif, à l’humour débridé, curieux, vibrants, sensibles. Tous ces échanges m’ont rappelé que l’acte d’écriture se doit d’être tourné vers l’Autre.

Je suis reconnaissant à Paula Danckert, Corey Castle du Playwrights’ Workshop Montréal, à Linda Gaboriau qui nous a accompagnés durant ce séjour.

I feel very privileged to have participated in this writer/translator residency in the unique, enchanted setting of Tadoussac and the welcoming home of Mr. Bill Glassco

Privileged because I was able to work with my translator, Shelley Tepperman, on this new adaptation of my play 24 Poses (Portraits). I left with the conviction that this reworking was necessary and did more justice to the original text.

Above all the greatest privilege was to rub shoulders, over the course of ten days, with men and women, with rich, diverse experience, and distinctive views of the theatre scene and the world. Curious, vivacious, sensitive people with quick minds and a lively sense of humour. All these exchanges reminded me that the act of writing should reach out to the Other.
