She has coordinated a number of play development programmes in theatres and play development centres across the country including at the Banff Centre for the Arts, the Centre des auteurs dramatiques (CEAD) in Montreal, the National Arts Centre (Ottawa) and Playwrights&#8217; Workshop Montr\u00e9al. Maureen has also worked extensively as a translation dramaturge. Maureen was the Jury Chair for the Siminovitch Prize in Theatre from 2009 to 2012. From 2006 to 2011, she was Co-Director of the Banff Playwrights Colony at the Banff Center for the Arts. Previous to that, she worked at the Colony as resident dramaturge and then as Head of Program (2002-2005). Maureen taught at the National Theatre School of Canada for twenty years starting in the mid-90\u2019s. Maureen has also translated close to fifty plays into English. In 2019, Alexis Diamond served as co-artistic director of the famed festival of new writing, the Jamais Lu Festival, where she also presented a bilingual play, Faux-amis, with co-author Hubert Lemire, with support from the CALQ.<br \/>Three of her translations were presented during the 2018-19 season (for Geordie Productions 2Play-Tour, Talisman Theatre and Le Petit Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Sherbrooke). Her translation of Nelly Arcan\u2019s\u00a0<em>Burqa de chair<\/em>\u00a0was published by Anvil Press in 2014, and her translation of Marie-Sissi Labr\u00e8che\u2019s novel,\u00a0<em>Borderline<\/em>, is forthcoming. His work has been presented regularly in diverse contexts, including La Mama Galleria (NYC) and the Beaverbrook Art Gallery (Fredericton NB). He was awarded the Cole Foundation Mentorship prize by Playwright&#8217;s Workshop Montr\u00e9al for translating \u00c9ric No\u00ebl&#8217;s <em>Faire des enfants<\/em>, which afforded him the opportunity to assist with its Portuguese adaptation at Teatro Nucleo Experimental,\u00a0summer 2024, thanks to Bouche(whacked) Theatre Collective. A regular at Festival Phenom\u00e9na and assorted Sala-Rossa-based events, Jordan is currently writing a two-hander with fellow drag artist Crystal Slippers (Guy Hermon).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Translation Project<\/strong><br \/><strong><em>River Bed<\/em><\/strong><br \/>As the recipient of\u00a0PWM\u2019s 2016 Cole Foundation Mentorship for Emerging Translators, Jordan Arseneault translated \u00c9ric No\u00ebl\u2019s Faire des enfants (2011, Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Quat\u2019Sous, published by Lem\u00e9ac \u00c9diteur. Translation dramaturgy was provided by Maureen Labont\u00e9. Their work explores the ritualization of grief, gender performativity, queer\/trans identity and the psychological effects of sexual objectification. Rhiannon was a guest artist at the LungA festival in Sey\u00f0isfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, Iceland and artist-in-residence at the Mauser Eco House in Costa Rica. She was also the Language Coordinator on the film\u00a0<em>Hochelaga, Land of Souls<\/em>, overseeing the translation of the script into specific Indigenous languages and historical variants of French and English.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Translation Project<\/strong><br \/><em><strong>Muliats<\/strong><\/em><br \/><em>Muliats<\/em> by Charles Bender, Charles Buckell, Marco Collin, Xavier Huard, Natasha Kanap\u00e9 Fontaine et Christophe Payeur (le collectif)<\/p>\n<p><strong>2021-2023 &#8211; Rhiannon Collett<\/strong><br \/>Rhiannon Collett (they\/them) is an award-winning non-binary playwright, performer, director and translator based in Montreal and Toronto. Their work explores the ritualization of grief, gender performativity, queer\/trans identity and the psychological effects of sexual objectification. Rhiannon was a guest artist at the LungA festival in Sey\u00f0isfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, Iceland and artist-in-residence at the Mauser Eco House in Costa Rica.
