{"id":12398,"date":"2022-10-24T17:57:42","date_gmt":"2022-10-24T21:57:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.playwrights.ca\/?p=12398"},"modified":"2022-11-14T18:47:26","modified_gmt":"2022-11-14T23:47:26","slug":"congratulations-2021-2022-montreal-english-theatre-award-nominees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.playwrights.ca\/fr\/2022\/10\/24\/congratulations-2021-2022-montreal-english-theatre-award-nominees\/","title":{"rendered":"Congratulations 2021\/2022 Montreal English Theatre Award Nominees!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-getwid-section\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-section__wrapper getwid-padding-top-medium\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-section__inner-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-section__background-holder\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-section__background has-background\" style=\"background-color:#2f0bc3\"><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-section__foreground\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-section__content\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-section__inner-content\">\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-text-color\">The 10th Annual META award recipients have now been announced, and include a number of the PWM collaborations nominated this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-text-color\">PWM congratulates Jimmy Blais for receiving the <strong>Outstanding New Text <\/strong>award for \u201cFeather Gardens\u201d, a comedic and close-to-home script produced by Hudson Village Theatre.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:60%\">\n<p>The 2021\/2022 season <a href=\"https:\/\/playwrights.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=f7a5a7cdb1e30bcbb7aca8cf4&amp;id=6e780ad8c1&amp;e=eab8e272e1\"><strong>Montreal English Theatre Awards (METAs)<\/strong><\/a> are coming up soon, and as we get ready to celebrate the work of writers, performers, and stage-artists making exceptional English theatre in Montr\u00e9al, we\u2019re happy to report more than a few PWM collaborations have been included!&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-medium is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.metas.ca\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.playwrights.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/METAs_logo_nowords_whitebackground-300x228.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12405\" width=\"164\" height=\"121\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Jimmy Blais\u2019 \u201cFeather Gardens\u201d<\/strong> at the Hudson Village Theatre has been nominated for 4 awards, including Outstanding New Text, Outstanding PACT Production, Outstanding Ensemble. <strong>Hailey Verbonac<\/strong> received a nomination for Outstanding Emerging Artist in Production, for their work on the show\u2019s lighting and video design.<\/li><li><strong>Emilie Monnet <\/strong>has been nominated for an Outstanding Contribution to Theatre for <strong>\u201cOkinum\u201d<\/strong>, and for Outstanding Direction alongside co-directors <strong>Emma Tibaldo<\/strong> et<strong> Sarah Williams<\/strong>. Producers Imago Theatre and Onishka have also been nominated for Outstanding PACT Production with this piece.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Gabe Maharjan\u2019s \u201cFrom the Stars in the Sky to the Fish in the Sea\u201d <\/strong>has been nominated for Outstanding New Text, with several nominations given to Geordie Theatre\u2019s production team for their set, costume, lighting and sound design.<\/li><li><strong>Christine ML Lee<\/strong>, PWM\u2019s very own Office Manager &amp; Program Coordinator (Young Creators Unit and New Stories Project), has been nominated for an Outstanding Emerging Artist in Production award, for her sound design of Teesri Duniya Theatre\u2019s production&nbsp; <strong>\u201cPsycho 6\u201d<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can see the full list of nominations and learn more about attending the METAs through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metas.ca\/news\/jsb2zmwwk1yb5xxk5krn3iwt8dh968\">their website<\/a>.
