You&#8217;ve got about an hour before your lips are sewn shut. What will you say while you still have the time? What will be your last word?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<em>So it attacks us when we censure ourselves in front of someone else, is that it? It assaults us when we hold back our opinions? We\u2019re condemned for this! Seriously? I blow on my wounds to help them heal.<\/em>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Warning<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Reference to racially motivated rape, strong language and violent imagery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the Translator<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Johanna Nutter is a performer, creator, and curator of live arts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2015, she started\u00a0creature\/<strong>creature<\/strong>, consolidating her passion for blurring lines between established divisions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an actor, she\u2019s distinguished herself in leading roles at both Centaur (<em>Good People<\/em>) and La Licorne (<em>Les \u00c9v\u00e8nements<\/em>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She won the Cole Foundation and PWM\u2019s Emerging Translator Award for\u00a0<em>CHLORINE<\/em>\u00a0(Florence Longpr\u00e9 &amp; Nicolas Michon), which she also produced and directed (Centaur, Brave New Looks). She attended PWM\u2019s translation residency in Tadoussac, working with Linda Gaboriau on\u00a0<em>Mon fr\u00e8re est enceinte,\u00a0<\/em>the French version of her international hit solo,\u00a0<em>My Pregnant Brother.\u00a0<\/em>It played in both languages at La Licorne, where it was awarded the Cochon d\u2019Or for Meilleure production de la rel\u00e8ve 2011-2012 and went on to tour throughout Quebec, across Canada, and to Scotland, England, and Belgium. She has also translated texts by \u00c9tienne Lepage, Guillaume Corbeil, and D. Kimm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is currently working on translations of two recent solo creations,\u00a0<em>OSCAR: girl gone wilde<\/em>\u00a0(with Joseph Shragge, Jamais Lu 2019), and <em>Tree Hug<\/em> (Art in the Open, PEI 2019), as well as continuing her work with Algonquin art star Nadia Myre,\u00a0 <em>STRIKETHRU<\/em> (Ph\u00e9nomena, Origins, UK 2019), going up at the MAI in May.
